Abstract:Flt. Lt. Jerry Rawlings insists on calling his second intervention of December 31, 1981, in which he overthrew the civilian government of Dr. Hilla Limann, a Revolution. Does this mean it is in some qualitative sense different from other types of military intervention which Ghana has experienced? In order to grasp its real significance, it is necessary to examine the whole question of military involvement in politics historically in order to situate this particular intervention in a specific conjuncture of social, historical and class forces. Bibliogr., sum. in French and Portuguese.
