Abstract:The suffering of the Ethiopian people from the effects of drought and famine were among the factors which contributed to the downfall of the Haile Selassie regime. But drought and famine were themselves a product of the feudal mode of production and the neo-colonial economy of the country. The present article analyses the factors which led to the overthrow of the regime of Haile Selassie in 1974. Ref.
