| Abstract: | The main arguments underlying most accounts of relations between Kamba and Masai are that it is meaningful to talk of relations in tribal terms, that these relations are basically hostile, that they are lawless or uncontrolled and that they are unchanged by outside interference. In this article the author refutes these arguments and shows that they are ill-founded. Ref. |
