| Abstract: | The Human Sero-Genetics Unit of the South African Institute for Medical Research decided in 1971 that it would be useful to have available a set of references by means of which the indigenous etnic groups of Southern Africa could be placed in broad geographical and ethnological perspective. A set of map-references was drawn up and is published here in the form of lists consisting of the name of the main ethnic group, the secondary groups and sub-groups, and coordinates representing the presumed mid-points of the particular group expressed to the nearest half-degrees of latitude and longitude. |
