Abstract: | Aim is to show in some detail: That Portugal's 'declared policy of racial toleration' and its willingness to participate in constructive dialogue leading to change are simply convenient myths. That Portugal intends to hold on to her colonies and is deriving increasing economic benefit from them. That Portugal cannot hold on by herself against the determined strength of the people of Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, and is thus increasingly turning to her Western Allies for aid. That despite its often declared policy of support for the right of self-determination, the actual role played by the United States, public and private, is that of committed support for Portuguese colonialism. Once again U.S. power is coming down on the wrong side of the battle line. Map, statistics, list of U.S. corporations in Angola and Mozambique. |
