Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to review the degree of concomitance that exists between the processes of 'decolonization' and 'recolonization' in Africa, and to create an awareness of the latter, which is often mistaken for neocolonialism. An attempt is made to explicate the differences between neocolonialism and recolonization with a view to creating the understanding that decolonization is not and end but the beginning of a new phenomenon described as recolonization. In conclusion is explained what this process portends for the total development of African states. Notes.
