Abstract: | In the southern Sudan, education, during the British-Egyptian Condominium, was left almost entirely to missionaries. From the 1920s onwards the Government made small grants to missions in return for the right to advise and to promote some uniformity in educational techniques and objectives. It was not until 1943 that a government school was provided and not until 1948 that Rumbek Boy's Secondary School was established. Ref., tab. |
