Abstract: | A survey of private sector entreprises in urban Juba over the period November 1982 - February 1983 with a view to assessing the operation of the town's labour market. It should be seen as a means of assessing the employment structure of different kinds of entreprises and the level of incomes and rewards generated, the processes of recruitment, promotion, dismissal and remuneration in these enterprises and their distribution across different groups of the population; the pattern of growth and factors affecting this growth; and the likely future evolution of the labour market. From this analysis policy suggestions will be forthcoming. Three appendices: The determinants of net income in the enterprise - The determinants of wages of employees - Survey questionnaire. |
