| Abstract: | In the period of Europe's colonization the African writer belonged to the new elite, separated from his compatriots by the fact that he imitated the European life style and condemned many of the old customs. He was frantically beckoning to them to come and enter the new area. To ensure that his message was not lost, he used the technique of digression; of the twice-told tale; dialogue; allegory; parable and related modes as allegorical names. Notes. |
