Abstract: | Objective of this article is to describe the present prospects of science and technology education in Africa. 1) It reviews the main lines of its history and background. 2) It discusses the goals and objectives of this education as well as analyses the role of science and technology and their contribution to the promotion of a New World Economic Order. 3) It underlines the present trends and the efforts presently made to adapt this teaching to the pupils' needs in their environment, on the one hand, and to the requirements of the socio-economic development of communities, on the other. 4) It deals with the actions to be taken, and considers and suggests solutions to the problems raised by science and technology education for development.
