Abstract:Analyses of the general trend of Govt. expenditure on 2 types of social investment, public health and education and a review of the progress made during the last decade. Figures of the increase in school population, teachers supply ana number of schools are given. Schools. Cyrenaica, 1949/50: 56 elementary; 2 secondary. 1960/61: 232 elementary; 30 secondary; 11 kindergarten. Ferzan, 1952/53: 17 elementary; 1960/61: 63 elementary; 5 secondary. Tripolitania, 1955: 205 schools; 1961: 289 elementary: 72 secondary, Higher education University of Libya (1955), Islamic university College of Advanced Technology (1961), Health: figures of expenditure, number of hospitals and beds, number of doctors.
