| Abstract: | In the field of radical African studies little attention has been paid to an assessment of the revolutionary potential of the African elites. How and for what reasons can members of the African elite become a 'counter elite', 'dissidents' or conscious revolutionaries? Certain categories within the African elite, under certain conditions, will be more inclined to opt for revolutionary action. Their choice is based not only on intellectual and moral considerations, but also rooted in objective economic and sociological data. Note, ref.
