| Abstract: | Christianity is the state religion of Ethiopia. Professed by an estimated 50 per cent of the population, it is the moat influential religion in the country, organized in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The author gives much attention to the Ethiopian Church's historical experiences. He begins with a descriptive and historical study of Church education. This is followed by a discussion of the Church's institutions and Church and state relations. The 4th section on Church and society at large, discusses amply the social teaching of the Church, attitudes towards social values and social problems. Church family life and society.
