| Abstract: | Tn the Cape Town parliament Dr.Verwoerd announced that the Transkei is to be granted self-govt. early next year. The details of the new constitution for the Transkei will be worked out in consultation with the Bantu leaders of the Transkei. There will be special financial arrangements (the income from all direct taxation hitherto obtained from the Transkei Bantu, both within and without the territory will be diverted to its use) and economic development planning.
