Abstract:In the Nigerian context there is a general paucity of studies relating to adolescent patterns of behaviour. This investigation is an attempt to fill this gap. It aims at throwing light on the behaviour of adolescents in their relationships with peer groups on the one hand and adults on the other, with regard to advice on various matters. An attempt is made to answer the question of whether youths, in late adolescence tend to rely more on peer groups or on adults for advice on various matters of concern. Hypotheses: 1. In a traditional society such as Nigeria, adults and peers are equally important as sources of advice; 2. Boys and girls in their late adolescence respectively, seek the advice of parents and peers in equal proportions. Sections: The problem population sampling - Research procedure - Results - Discussion. Ref., tables, abstract, appendix.
