Abstract:The purpose of this paper has been to describe job evaluation methods used in studies of tasks performed by Africans in four companies. A special technique made it possible to conclude supervisory tasks in one job evaluation system. Multiple regression analysis as a statistical technique was discarded because of practical requirements. To obtain the relationship between factor scores and wages, an exponential equation was developed. By this method, implementation of the job evaluation studies in the four companies would mean a reduction in basic wage in a small proportion only of the total labour force employed. Tables.
