Abstract:	This volume is a result of a seminar entitled 'Terre et pouvoir contestés. Bonds and boundaries in Northern Ghana/Southern Burkina Faso'. The seminar was held in July 1998 in the provincial town of Gaoua in southwestern Burkina Faso. The essays in the book examine how bonds and boundaries are maintained and acted upon by people living in northern Ghana and southern Burkina Faso, bringing together cosmological notions of space, colonial and postcolonial representations and social practices.
