Abstract:Yoruba religion and Yoruba ethics are one. Traditionally, Yoruba religion provided rules or ethics which had an economic impetus. Economic activities and religious beliefs were to a large extent intertwined. On this account economic activities were subject to moral rules. There was a correlation between religious doctrines and the practical ethics of economic activity. Focus is on moral issues associated with factors of production, the relationship between employer and employee, and market structure in the traditional Yoruba economy of Nigeria. Ref.
