Abstract:This article examines some critical issues in Nigeria's foreign policy after Nigeria's transition to democratic governance on 29 May 1999. It revisits Nigeria's foreign policymaking and implementation, and examines the future challenges of foreign policymaking in a democratic setup. It concludes, amongst others, that foreign policymaking in Nigeria will have to respond to the demands of multilateralism and changes in the domestic and global environments. Ref., sum.
