Abstract:The desire for interconnectedness between societies has resulted in increased cross-border economic activities, some with positive and others with negative consequences. This paper focuses on one of the negative consequences of globalization - child trafficking in Africa. It examines trafficking routes in West and Central Africa, as well as factors predisposing children to child trafficking, including poverty, labour market issues, family disorganization, and sociocultural practices. It further discusses the impact of child trafficking and interventions to eradicate the practice. Bibliogr., sum. in English and French. [ASC Leiden abstract]
