Abstract:This documentary, presented by Timbuktu Educational Foundation (TEF) tells the spectacular story of the teaching methodology utilized by the scholars of the University of Timbuktu in Mali, West Africa, from the making of the ink to the development of the many branches of knowledge. TEF uses historical footage, re-enactments and a remarkable exposition of art, architecture and interviews of African scholars to recount the rise and the importance of the University of Timbuktu and its methodology of teachings. Increasingly, scholars and historians are recognizing the profound impact that this great learning center has on the annals of world history. [Abstract reproduced from dvd]
