Abstract: | The Liberian civil wars spanned fourteen years, from 1989 to 2003. The long process of disarmament and peacekeeping missions paved the way for 'free and fair' elections that took place in 2005. Since then Liberia has worked hard to re-establish its economy and infrastructure and maintain peace among the diverse peoples populating the country. There has been a remarkable increase in the literature that addresses the complexities of the civil war and postwar reconciliation in Liberia. This guide identifies key resource materials useful for scholars and students. It focuses on resources published between 1999 and 2008 and covers reference materials, bibliographies, databases, periodicals, dissertation and thesis resources, online resources, government information, and books.
