Abstract:The papers in this special issue were earlier presented at a conference on Ethiopian Diaspora Cultural Creativity held at Harvard University on 11-13 April 2008. An introductory article by the editors discusses the concept of diaspora and its relevance for the Ethiopian experience and provides an overview of Ethiopian movement abroad, which culminated in the mass exodus sparked by the 1974 revolution.
