Abstract: | The issue of women and HIV and AIDS is as complex today as it was when it was first discussed. Women continue to be more vulnerable to HIV and AIDS than men. This paper focuses on five key vulnerabilities, namely biological, economical, educational, political and legal-sociocultural factors, which intersect to influence how women in particular are impacted. Three practical case studies highlight how development education methodologies assist communities in Zambia in dealing with the complexities thrown up by HIV and AIDS. Bibliogr., sum.
