| Abstract: | This study of the state of human security in Africa is divided into five parts. Part I (chapter by Roba D.Sharamo and Chrysantus Ayangafac) provides a conceptual and analytical framework. Part II examines evolving and possible future security threats in Africa: Fako Johnson Likoti on election processes, Bonnie Ayodele on drug trafficking, Dipo Kolawole on maritime security in the Horn of Africa, Azeez Olaniyan on the population boom). Part III analyses the capacity and policy responses adopted by the AU: chapters by Prosper Nii Nortey Addo and Solomon A. Dersso. Part IV focuses on strategic international partnerships between the AU, the UN and the EU (chapters by Kwesi Aning and Ferdinand Kwaku Danso, Henrike Klavert, Eleonora Koeb and Andrew Sherriff, and Jagne Baboucarr and Valerio Bosco, [ASC Leiden abstract] |
