Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to examine three cases of AU?s interventionism, which involve the deployment of peace support operations. The objective is to identify both positive and negative lessons learnt from these peace support operations. This includes among others when and how to intervene and the policy implications of AU?s interventionism. The aim is to suggest ways of consolidating these positive lessons and achievements so as to improve AU?s capacity in running peace support operations.
