Abstract:	With a view to presenting the perspectives on South Africa's role in global economic governance and to exploring the experience and approaches of other countries involved in the G20 and alliances beyond BRICS, this special issue brings together a number of the papers presented at a conference in early December 2014 entitled 'Alliances beyond BRICS: repositioning South Africa's foreign economic policy (strategy) in global economic governance'.
