Abstract: | On this DVD are two films: 'Africains poids moyens': June 1960. The Belgian Congo is on the eve of independence. A young Congolese boxer, Samwa, and his older brother, Nourou, arrive in Brussels for the final of the Afro-European Middleweight Championship to fight against the Belgian title holder. 'Traces, empreintes de femmes': The wall paintings of the Kassenas women in Burkina Faso, near the border with Ghana, are famous for the beauty of their patterns and the harmony of their colours. The director compares and contrasts tradition with modernity, seen through the intertwined portraits of three old women and their 'grand-daughter', whom they are initiating in their ancestral art.
