Abstract: | the role of the Lebanese trader is described against the background of the economy of Sierra Leone as a whole. Although economic factors and relationships dominate in this study, attention is also paid to the historical, sociological and political aspects of the subject. The author worked in Sierra Leone from 1959 to 1971. He was a lecturer at Fourah Bay College. The actual fieldwork for this study, consisting of interviews and systematic observation was done between September 1969 and March 1971. |
