| Abstract: | The report contains general and special (case) studies, representing several disciplines, on the drought and famine in the Sahel-Ethiopian Zone of Africa, and the Kalahari (Botswana). The introductory analysis points out that calamity has not been brought about by just climatic uncertainty, excessive population growth, and spoliation of the natural environment by peasants.
