Abstract:The authors attempted to calculate the population supporting capacity on a district scale, based on available data on natural resources and land use, without the use of geo-based information systems and other computer facilities. In such a manner they hope to provide a simple calculation method that can be used by individual institutes and organizations at district and lower levels.
