| Abstract: | In 1982, at a special session devoted to disarmament, the UNO General Assembly launched a World Disarmament Campaign with its Department of Disarmament Affairs as coordinator. Within the framework of the campaign, conferences, seminars and meetings are held in various regions of the world. The 10th meeting, in Lomé, with 70 representatives from research and educational communities as well as other experts from various African countries, was held in cooperation with the OAU which, in its resolution AHG/Res. 126 (XX), adopted in November 1984, had supported the holding of a regional conference on security, disarmament and development in Africa. This report contains the programme, opening remarks, the five papers presented, the rapporteur's report, closing remarks, a final note by the OAU, and a list of invited participants. |
