Abstract: | One of the characteristics of the process of african economic integration is the proliferation of african international organizations. this proliferation generates other integration challenges for the continent. in the process of african integration, the member states of the african union signed on march 21, 2018 in kigali an agreement establishing the african continental free trade area, which entered into force on may 30, 2019. exchange is the first step in the process of economic integration. it involves the removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers in the common area. the afcfta is based on the free trade areas of the regional economic communities, which under the terms of the preamble of the aforesaid agreement serve as pillars for the creation of the african continental free trade area. in addition, the democratic republic of congo is a member of several oias which have rec status and all have an operational free trade area, including sadc, comesa, eccas and eac. it signed the afcfta agreement and has just ratified it on april 14, 2022, which leads us to wonder if this area is not too much for the drc and if the latter is ready to meet the objectives of this area. |
