| Abstract: | Foreign investments are considered as added value that can meet the needs of a population or must absolutely contribute to the economic development of a country while respecting established standards. this research on chinese mining investments placed particular emphasis on employment policy in the DRC (the level of workers' remuneration; safety measures in mines including helmets, gloves, work clothing, protective shoes, safety glasses, etc.; respect for human rights, the country's laws and regulations; the role of state public services including the labor inspectorate and the cnss). this study, which aims to protect employees as beneficiaries of these chinese mining investments through respect for a good employment policy, was based more on data from a few ngos and information collected anonymously in the field. in view of the deviations observed, this study advocates respect for congolese employment legislation so that these investments are beneficial to congolese employees and to promote the effectiveness of the rule of law in the DRC. |
