Abstract:In the first part of this article is dealt with the subject of migrant labor in general and some of its aspects in the Liberian context in particular. The second part serves as an introduction to the contributions to the subject by Jeanette E. Carter (The rural Loma and Monrovia: ties with an urban center), Frederick D. McEvoy (Traditional and contemporary patterns in Sabo labor migration), and James C. Riddell (Mano labor migration and cash-cropping).
